2019 Masters SM in Wil – Part 1

On Saturday, May 4, 2019, a world upside down: The weather went crazy; Temperatures close to perceived 0°C; cold, disturbing wind; repeated rain showers; in the end even snowfall – in between, very briefly, a ray of sunshine!
But: Excellent organization by KTV Wil with Martina Gebert and Philipp Engeler. BRAVO!
Entered: 65 for 123 disciplines; started: 56 for 102 disciplines; the weather was too nasty for some. The KTV Wil led the 1st part of the Masters Championship simultaneously with the 2nd Wiler Meeting through. An encounter from very young to very old. A few guests from abroad, namely from nearby Vorarlberg, were also welcomed, including the internationally successful and highly decorated Marianne Maier, W75 .
It was gratifying that more than one podium came together in individual age groups, but it could of been “a little bit more”.
The performances were appealing considering the weather conditions and most Masters were able to go home with a medal.
New Masters Swiss record achieved:
Adelheid Graber-Bolliger W75 discus 0.75kg 24.57m (before, 09.09.2018, Adelheid Graber Bolliger 24.47m)
