“But where there is danger, grows the power to rescue.” Holderlin

Normally there are hardly any competitions in the Summer months. It’s different this time. For months, the competitions are less because of the Covid-19 crisis. As we slowly and cautiously emerge from lockdown, we’re looking for ways to compete; better: we’ll create some ourselves! So found on the Lucerne Allmend on July 3, 2020 as a replacement for “Spitzenleichtathletik” the “Invitation Meeting” of Swiss Athletics and on An “Internal” meeting will take place on July 4, 2020. The LCL Masters didn’t want to be left out, but tried to set up a small meeting with their own resources. This has now become «the little Lucerne International»!

Ten men and ten women from six nations and two continents met on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at the Allmend throwing facilities in Lucerne. Continue reading “Masters Throws Pentathlon in Lucerne”

Indoor SM Magglingen – Part 1

On the weekend of 25./26. On January 1, 2020, the first part of the Masters Indoor championship took place in Magglingen as part of the Indoor meeting of Biel/Bienne Athletics. The first events of the Masters Indoor Championships were held this year at the Biel/Bienne Athletics Indoor meeting, which was excellently organized as always.
Unfortunately, only men were at the start and some athletes shone with a ‘no show’, which is not very fair to the organizer.
In the Hurdles, Long Jump, 400m, 800m and 1500m events there were very good competitions, although there could have been more participants. The full podium in the hurdles M50 Hurdles event can certainly be mentioned here.
